Becky Hennesy serves as co-pastor with her husband Jim, and as Director of Women’s Ministry for Trinity Church. She and Jim have faithfully served the Lord in ministry for 37 years, and have been pastoring Trinity for the past 20 years.
Becky’s heart has always been for the lost and lonely, the outcast, and the poor. From early in life she was drawn to the less fortunate, and God has used her life experiences to shape her heart into one that desires to see all races and denominations come into a place of unity in the body of Christ, and for the lost to be found.
In 2005, the ministry of “Girlfriends” was birthed and has grown from approximately 250 to over 1,000 in attendance. In addition to this, Becky has been a crucial figure in raising up a generation of Deborahs to go and reach the world for Christ. It is her heart’s desire that the women’s ministry of Trinity Church would be a vehicle of transformation in our community, the marketplace and beyond, as we embrace women from all walks of life, and that we would live by a mandate of action to help other women find their value, purpose and destiny in God’s master plan.
Girlfriends began in January, 2005, in an effort to bring women from diverse backgrounds and cultures and seasons of life, together to enjoy a fun filled atmosphere. The goal was to create a fun, inviting atmosphere for women and to impart something relevant and valuable into the lives of those participating.
Our first Girlfriends event had nearly 300 in attendance and was held at a local smaller facility. Nearly 26 events, and almost 10 years later, we now see over 1,000 in attendance at each event. Women from all walks of life – young and old, single and married – have come to represent the makeup of what Girlfriends is all about.
We long to be a vehicle of transformation in our community, the marketplace and beyond, as we embrace women from all walks of life. We live by a mandate of action to help women realize their value, purpose and destiny in God’s master plan. Our heart is to encourage women to find their place and live the life God created for them.
The heartbeat of our ministry is simple:
- Our message is HOPE.
- Our language is LOVE.
- Our attitude is GRATITUDE.
- Our culture is SERVICE.
- Our spirit is INCLUSIVE.
- Our actions are INTENTIONAL.
We cross generations and cultures, we are relevant, and we bring restoration.
We are Making A Difference in our church, our community, and our world.
